2007 has been a very successful year for the Maryland Masters track team. Several of our team members were outstanding performers in both the Indoor and Outdoor National Masters Track and Field Championships as well as in the World Championships in Italy. Many of our members were ranked in the top ten nationally in their events. On January 21st Joe Burno, Ashley Childs, Oscar Peyton, Donna Barrett, Alby Williams, and Marcus Battle were honored at the Maryland State house in Annapolis, MD with proclamations and resolutions from both the House and Senate in honor of their medal-wining performance at the National Masters Outdoor Championships. They stood in front each chamber and were given an ovation by the Maryland legislators while their proclamations were read out loud.
